Chapter 1:

Creatures

The wizarding world is full of different creatures.

Are you ready to learn about them?

Hi! I'm Rubeus Hagrid. I live in a house  next to the Forbidden Forest, and look after it. I found some rests of a dead creature yesterday. Would you help me investigate what creature do them belong to?

I also have some new creatures I would like to classify. Would you help me doing that, too? Thank you!

This is what you can observe by looking at the sample through the microscope:

TASK 1: Take notes in your notebook answering these questions:

  • What is it?

  • What components can you distinguish?

  • Does it belong to an animal or to a plant?

        How do you know it?

Then, draw a pictogram to show Hagrid how creatures are internally organized.

You'll get 10 XP by completing this task.

Apart from their inner organization, creatures are organized into five big groups. These groups, as in the muggles’ world are called kingdoms. Hagrid needs some information to classify creatures found in the Forbidden Forest.

TASK 2: Investigate and learn about the characteristics of the different groups and cooperate with your housemates to elaborate a paper with them.

Then, have a look at the creatures Hagrid has found in the Forbidden Forest and help him classify them into the five kingdoms.

You'll get 30 XP by completing this task.
