Chapter 5:

A wizarding company

It is always a good time to believe in your ideas and create a company

Hi! We're George and Fred Weasley. Yes, we owned the Marauder's map for some time but we gave it to you because we felt like you needed it more. Since we have been very generous with you, can you now help us? We want to open a shop at Hogsmeade to sell our joke objects but we have no idea about how to start a company. Will you show us how to do it? You'll have discounts whenever you come to the shop.

TASK 1: â€‹ Define some basic concepts:

  • Economy

  • Company

  • Profit

  • Money

  • Budget

  • Savings

  • Investments

TASK 2: â€‹ Write a letter to Fred and George explaining everything they need to know to create a company:

  • Types of companies (according to size and sector)

  • Types of resources you need in a company: human resources, material resources and financial resources.

  • Departments:

    • Purchases​

    • Production

    • Human resources

    • Marketing

    • Accounts

Add a mindmap including all this information so that they can understand it without problem.

TASK 3: Marketing is very important in every company. Create a visual thinking to show Fred and George how to create an advertising campaign for their company. Don't forget to include:

  • What advertising is

  • Techniques

  • Process:

    • 1. Think about the target audience

    • 2. Create a slogan

    • 3. Choose the media: print or electronic

TASK 4: â€‹ Think about goods or services you think people need in your environment- anything that people around you can be interested in or can help them in their lives.

Create a company to provide that product or service to people. Your company will serve as an example to the Weasleys so make sure you do your best.

EXTRA TASK: Choose an advertisement  (newspaper, magazine, television, radio...) and analize its parts:

  • Where have you seen the advert?

  • Who is the target audience of the advert?

  • Does it have an slogan?

  • Does it use: exageration, repetition and association?

You'll get 5  extra XP.
