Chapter 3:

Potion ingredients

A good wizard or witch needs to know where to find the best ingredients to prepare amazing potions.

I'm your Potions Professor, Severus Snape. To elaborate potions, you will need different ingredients. These can be non-living things or products obtained from living things. The first step to become a good potitioner is to know where you can take the ingredients from. Study and learn about the different ecosystems on Earth and then decide where to find the necessary things to elaborate two potions.

TASK 1: Take notes in your notebook answering these questions:

  • What is an ecosystem?

  • What is a species?

  • How is the organization in an ecosystem? Draw it.

  • Living things in an ecosystem interact. Explain five of those relationships and give examples.

You'll get 10 XP by completing this task.

TASK 2: Elaborate a mindmap with the different types of ecosystems. Include some characteristics of each ecosystem and examples of the living things you can find there.

You'll get 10 XP by completing this task.

TASK 3: Create a picture showing the nutrition relationships between living things.

You'll get 5 XP by completing this task.
